With an abundance of beautifully illustrated books to choose from, focusing on one category at a time helps to narrow down the search. If you’re and Art Deco lover like I am, then you will fall in love with VOGUE COLORS A to Z | A Fashion Coloring Book. Edited by Valerie Steiker, designed by Alberto Orta, and published by Alfred A. Knopf (a division of Penguin Random House), this book is a divine deco dream. Immerse yourself in this whimsical Art Deco fantasy featuring American Vogue covers from 1912-1932 by ten celebrated illustrators. The details are to die for, with cover girls wearing flapper dresses, hats, tassels, feathers, and jewels. Exotic birds and animals with opulent letters surrounded by art deco patterns are just some of the eye candy that will sharpen your focus into high gear.
This is a large book measuring 10” x 11” with thick pages suitable for framing when your work of art is complete. To color these pages, I used a combination of Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils, Winsor & Newton Pigment Markers, and Sakura Gelly Roll Metallic Gel Pens.

If you love runway fashion, shoes, bags and accessories, then THE FASHION COLORING BOOK | By Carol + Lulu is for you. Designed by Carol Chu and Lulu Chang, and published by Graphia/Houghton Miffin Harcourt Publishing Company. This playful collection of head to toe looks is both fun and fashionable, featuring runway collections and accessories from some of the biggest names in fashion like Chanel, Stella McCartney, Alexander Wang, Isabel Marant, Alexander McQueen, Luella, Saint Laurent, Marc Jacobs, and many more!
This is a paperback book measuring 8” x 11” with text weight pages covered on both sides. I recommend using Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils and fun metallic gel pens like Sakura Gelly Roll Metallic Gel Pens for the jewelry and metal accents on the accessories. If you decide to use markers (like I did on some of the pages), I suggest putting a blank sheet or two of paper behind the page you’re working on to avoid bleeding to the other pages.

Designed in a journal-style measuring a little over 8” x 8”, it has an elastic band and satin bookmark with thick pages suitable for framing when your work of art is complete. I used a combination of Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils, Winsor & Newton Pigment Markers, and Sakura Gelly Roll Metallic Gel Pens.
