As I mentioned in my last post, Switching to Organic Makeup, I’m slowly transitioning my entire beauty arsenal to safer products. One of my top priorities is switching to clean and organic lipsticks. Why am I focusing on lip products, you ask? I believe that lip color is one of the fastest ways to pull a look together. Unfortunately, it is also one of the fastest ways to ingest potentially toxic chemicals since the ingredients on our lips end up in our mouths! To help us navigate off the poisonous path and onto green pastures, I have gathered some of my favorite botanical beauties to help us twist and pout our way to a healthier pucker. We’re saying goodbye to artificial fragrances and toxins, and hello to plant and flower power by rounding up the top 5 organic lipsticks for summer. I’m not saying that a beautiful lipstick will change the world, or magically make you healthy or happy. What I am saying is that a beautiful lip color, made with your health in mind, has the ability to nourish your lips with healing botanicals rather than infuse them with toxins. It has the ability to help you express yourself in color, without putting your health at risk. It has the power to represent a conscious awareness about your well-being, and an investment in your best self. There is great power in applying knowledge…and a beautiful lipstick.
